Fahrenheit 9/11 has yet to open in Danish cinemas, but it's hard not to be bombarded with opinions about the movie already. One particular fashionable take is that Moore is more than less tweaking the truth and that he's obsessed with conspiracy theories (so was he characterized by Danish national TV yesterday).
I haven't yet seen the movie, but I've enjoyed his earlier work, so I'm probably slightly biased for Moore. This bias has just be enforced by the fact that Moore is not afraid to reveal his sources. He just posted a ton of references to support his statements about the shenanigans involved in the 2000 election, Bush's reaction to the 9/11 attacks, and indictment that he didn't do enough about terrorism prior to the attacks.
So while it's obvious that Moore is a partisan dedicated to kick Bush from the White House, it doesn't automatically disqualify his arguments and references to fact. Neither does the fact that he's using humor to communicate.
Regardless, I'll be sure to see the movie on opening night here in Copenhagen, and will reserve further judgment until then.

Together with some of the other Danish Apple WWDC attendees I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 last week in San Francisco. Boy, was I chocked.
I think Michael Moore's film is even more choking for a non-native than to an American who must have watched every one of the scandals play out during the past years.
Halliburton, Carlyle Group, Unocal, none of the bin Laden tie-in's, to name a few, had come to my attention before I saw the film. I felt like I had been living under a rock for years and having it all served up like that was overwhelming.
Although California is not Bush's home ground the views of the locals who saw the film did leave a big impression. A guy said "I'm ashamed of being American". No one contested his outburst.
I was living in California when Bush came to power in 2000. I hope that I will be able to say that I went back to see him on his way out of office as well.

I'm quilty of getting the movie over bittorrent - some crappy screener from the Cannes festival I think. Atleast Moore doesn't mind :-)
I've read his book, Stupid White Men, where he covered some of these things, but the extent of it absolutely blew me away in the movie - to the point of be very, very scary to watch.
I wish I could throw a Kerry vote across the atlantic :)

Just remember that Kerry is a member of the same infamous 'Skull and Bones' fraternity as Bush is. And they both deny talking about it at all ! Makes me wonder about how different they really are.. ?

Mm-hmm, the whole Kerry vs. Bush extravaganza pretty much boils down to one thing: picking the less harmful candidate out of the two. As Moore himself said, "if Kerry's elected, I'll be on his tail from day one".
Even if Kerry's elected, I don't see the problems going away: the whole corporate-driven culture of the US is to blame for the Bush administration's actions, and the controversy they have caused.
But hey, at least Kerry can't be worse than Bush jr... Right?
