Instiki has just exceeded 5,000 downloads! And what better way to celebrate that than highlight how Mena of Six Apart fame organizes her own notes:
I have recently found that I enjoy using Instiki to keep notes. I don't like using wikis for collaboration. We keep one internally and I'm at a lost when it comes to finding data quickly. I'm a chronological, categorical sort of person. However, I've been able to use Instiki for collaboration with the person I know best -- myself.
What an honor. I'm thrilled to see how Instiki just keeps on growing even as I'm shamelessly neglecting it for other pastimes. I'll get back to it, though. Instiki has at least 10x the user base in it.

Please do find your way back to instiki soon... It is by far my favorite wiki, but it can still use a bit of work:
1) You need to automatically create the storage/ directory on initial startup.
2) The MacOSX Instiki package is great (and doesn't suffer from the problem in #1), but I still can't get pdf output to work (or even show up as a possibility) even though I've got pdflatex installed.
3) Plugins. It would be great if we could get some kind of plugin architecture in Instiki so we could write our own plugins to customize various aspects.
...so do please come back to instiki in the not-too-distant future.

Agreed - instiki is great stuff! I think the #1 feature to have by default is the file attachments patch I've seen on the wiki.... purely to get people to use instiki as a document repository of sorts and to decorate their wiki design docs with class diagrams and so on.
